It gives me immense pleasure to invite you on behalf of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians and the 2023 Organizing Committee to the 13th Hong Kong Primary Care Conference which will be held from

23rd to 25th of June 2023. 

The theme of this year’s conference is “Flourishing Primary Care: Family Doctor for Everyone”. The recent release of the Primary Care Blueprint by the Hong Kong government has highlighted the importance of a robust primary healthcare system more than ever. The HKSAR Chief Executive’s 2022 Policy Address has shown a strong commitment to revamping the healthcare system from a treatment-oriented, hospital-based structure to a prevention-focused, community-based system, by investing additional resources to promote primary healthcare. Furthermore, it also advocates the promotion of “Family Doctor for All” concept as the essential foundation for sustainable people-centric primary healthcare in the community. Over the years, our College has always been a strong proponent of “Everyone should have a Family Doctor” concept as local and international studies have shown that healthcare systems with strong primary healthcare teams led by Family Doctors have proven to be more cost effective and sustainable.

Our annual hallmark conference will continue to captivate our participants with exciting yet diverse arrays of plenary sessions, seminars, workshops and discussion forums. Our workshops will resume the face to face mode to allow more interactive hands-on learning. Due to recent relaxation of COVID 19 restrictions in Hong Kong, we are pleased to announce that our Saturday afternoon session and dinner symposium will be on hybrid mode to allow face to face engagement enhancing human connection experience. Furthermore, I warmly invite you to submit abstracts to our signature clinical case competition as well as full research paper and free paper competitions.
